Joseph Phelps Vineyards
Freestone Vineyards Chardonnay
Overpowering butter, vanilla and loads of oak in this one. Acidity and glipmses of fruit flavors are trying hard to fight their way back up to the palate, but it's kind of a hopeless endeavor. Not for me.

Jul 5th, 2014Greenish yellow color. Vibrant nose with massive lemon and fennel. Very nice Chard but more tartness than I'm used to. Paired great with spiced harissa ragu and Italian rice salad with soppressata. The wife likes, which is all that matters!

Jan 21st, 2018Lively, complex nose!! A whiff of something from my early youth that I can't quite recall yet. Lemon, tropical fruit, and herb flavors. A great tartness which is really hitting the spot. Medium to long finish. I really like this! Great QPR based on what I paid!

Oct 8th, 2017Buttery, typical California Chard. Some good fruit & acidity. Bought at Costco for around $20. Worth that, but a little too much oak for me.

Nov 22nd, 2015If you are looking for an oaky, buttery Chardonnay with a zip, this is your wine.
Apple and pear mingle with intense American oak notes of caramel, butter, and spice notes that finish lengthy on the palate. The wine's backbone of acidity saves this from being a flat out butter bomb.
The wine's rich character and oak complements nicely with macadamia encrusted halibut. Yumm!
