1976: Solid in every way. Derived from the classic period, before anyone had known to coin the term classic period e with regard to California wine. Great length, and pleasing at each stage. Would love to experience again.

Soft red fruit with a tangy undertow of soured blue berries and garrigue. Incredibly fresh and complex. Some leather and sour cherry. A touch of band aid- very long and lovely. The only vintage that blended eisle and insignia grapes. Gorgeous.

Very close to the phenomenal 74, just barely misses, but still amazing at 40yrs.

Great historic bottle. Unfortunately seen it's peak. Non the less an unforgettable moment for this 1976.
