Vintner's Reserve Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

A go-to wine! Soft tannins up front with mild stone fruit finish.

Deep purple color and red hue. Very aromatic and round tannins. Long finish.

Cork was a mess, but the wine is ripe blackberries with spice. Smooth and wonderfully drinkable with steak and pommes frites. Opened about 15 minutes before serving.

A good Cabernet. Good nose. All the usual characteristics.

Smooth taste, sweet.

Classic Cab. Smooth tannins. Great sipping wine by itself.

Real talk: the mark ups at this resto are ridic, so tonight's main challenge was to find a reasonable value. I spent an uncomfortable amount of time with the wine list, but emerged victorious.

Lighter body than I was expecting, but after a time, the green pepper nose opened up and turned to vanilla and a little spice. Great with our files mignons (filets mignon?).

Nothing special but good table wine. Fruity but dry as another reviewer noted.

Way better than expected!
