Vintner's Reserve Sonoma County Merlot

This is a favorite Merlot. Almost dry. Notes of blackberry.

A slightly bitter element towards the end; a holdover of the anise and spice flavors. Definitely earthier than what I'd normally choose, and expect from a merlot. Ah well, it was free, what do I have to gripe about?

By far one of my favorite bottles of wine. I would have to say that the vintage 2011 is a great year.
