The baseline Kistler is not flashy but delivers a solid stat line every time out. Like the Charlie Blackmon of wine, without the beard.

Wednesday Wine Committee. As always, wines are tasted blind. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert.

A very rich and fruit forward Pinot. More of a sweet note compared to the Montagu. Almost leaned towards a light zin, but it revealed itself better after some air time. All fruit from the red, black and blue color spectrum. Borders the line of a cab lovers pinot. Again, I guessed this varietal correctly. ✔️

Red and blue fruits with a touch of spice and earth. Nice finish. Drinking well now. Nice wine, but not great QPR.

Savory blue fruits with an extended finish. Tasty, with some complexity, but lacking somewhat in structure, so this is ready to drink now. Not a wine built for aging.

Good varietal flavor. Not as much black cherry as I would like. Good body.

Tasty and easy to sip Sonoma Pinot. Nice red fruits with a bit of cola. Somewhat one-dimensional and lacking in structure and this not a wine for longer-term cellaring. Nice for easy drinking, but terrible QPR.

Needs a little time... boisterous big Pinot, lavender + violet front end, with that Pinot “bite” and plenty of acid. This could be really really good in a couple if years, or it could fall apart and turn a little acidic like a few vintages have.

I’ve been a fan of their Chardonnay for years and grabbed a few of the Pinots to venture out a bit. Solid purchase and great wine. A well built Pinot with structured fruit and weight.

Very fruit forward with smooth and long finish... Cherry, strawberry, and raspberry undertones
