Wow, what a ride. Skin contact chard from Hungary with addition of barrel fermented Szürkebarát (pinot gris). The nose is very interesting and inviting with almost a botrytis scent to it, along with apricot, honey, tangerine peel, a bit of leather too. Wow this is not super clean but it's super complex. The palate shows some acid drive, some tannic structure as could be expected for a skin contact wine (24 days in clay amphoras for the chardonnay), apricot, honey touches, a bit of a round mid palate with those tannins before a rather long, slightly drying finish with that honey, apricot note that goes on for ever. This is definitely a style of wine which is not for everyone but it's one of the better structured orange wines I've had. Think radikon from Hungary (for a nicer price tag). 14% abv
