Texas made with Cali fruit. Deep dark purple in the glass. Meaty and dense with a sweet side on the nose. 41% Petite Sirah yet the Carignan at 4% takes the stage. Ripe black muddled fruits, kirsch and cardamom on the sip. Inky and rich finish with loads of creamed mocha and all spice.

There are pros and cons to holding this a couple of years. The big pro seem to be a wine with much more expressive fruit on the front. However, the younger vintages seem to be more balanced but with much more astringent and almost metallic fruit character to them. This is doing very well, although I take away some points because the finish isn't really that memorable. Nose of roasted black fruits and truffle. Sweet and youthful but sort of funky. Nice dark black fruits on the front. Dense and consolidated. Very little acidity. Touch of graphite and herb in the middle. The finish is rather short. Some toasted Oak tannin. I think I have one more bottle to hold another year or two in order to see if that finish develops into something a little bit better than it was today.

Very good. Has a subtle tannin finish. Medium acid. Lots of forward fruit. Jammy. High alcohol. Personally i like a little less alcohol. Thank you @Adam Zell I have never had a texas wine. Yum.

Smooth, full bodied. Dark berry notes but not "grapey". 👍👍
