Not surprisingly it's a lot like Cayuse. Good news: that's one of my favorite wines, and now so is this. Will be even better in a couple of years.

Medium garnet red. Love the funk on the nose, reminds us of the GOK without the same intensity but tons of layers. Layered with crushed purple flowers, wet rocks, red berries, raspberries, a touch of olives, and leather. The Grenache really comes through after day one. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and light body to start that beefed up to medium bodied the next day. Stronger flavors in the front and mid palate with savory notes, gaminess, cassis, red cherries, herbs and a touch of minerality. Super long and lingering finish. This is still a baby and needs air, we tried this over three days and after having a four hour decant on day one. Delicious inaugural vintage by Elizabeth Bourcier of Cayuse. Drink till 2024. (93+)

Glad we waited to open. Still lots of funk, the Grenache really is dominant on the front palate. Delicious wine

2012 Walla Walla La Rata from Cayuse assistant Elizabeth Bourcier. A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Cayuse fans will recognize that nose. Notes of black raspberry, black cherries, ground herbs and crushed flowers. Spice and green peppers. Voluptuous and full-bodied style, it's tannins have softened nicely since the last time I tasted it. I seem to remember that there was not much produced, but source a bottle if you can. Elizabeth is a winemaker to watch.

Yup this one is pretty tasty. Decant. Smooth with a nice bite-y finish. I would still age this one a bit longer though. Definitely a good purchase, will keep buying this one.

First vintage from Elizabeth Bourcier of No Girls and Cayuse fame. 60/40 Grenache/Cabernet blend. Black as night in the glass. Blackberries, black cherries and raspberries. Some spice and herb notes. Voluptuous, concentrated, layered. A might tannic on the finish. Nice 1st effort. I'm in for the long haul on this one.
