Dec 25th, 2016From the November Old Line Scotch Club meeting, this was a good Islay whisky with peat, smoke and brine. Good QPR. #laphroaigquartercask #whisky #oldlinescotchclub

Nov 5th, 2016Evergreen, grapefruit, gingerbread, green onion, cedar, band-aid, and a very clean, smoky peat bouquet! Ridiculously generous complexity on the palate, ranging from caramelized tea biscuit, to smoked, candied lemon peel, parsnip and gunpowder. Long, lingering finish.

Sep 3rd, 2016Experimenting with Islay, love the peat, especially as this one mellowed with the sherry cask. Bought it because Trevanian's hero in his book Eiger Sanction drank a lot of it and a skit have club member in Dawson, Yukon did so as well.
