From the apogee of my Parker score based collecting years. Ugh. Still heavy and a little over extracted, but not altogether bad and showing better with some air. Just lacks the complexity and aromatics that make some of these wines great - and albeit, I have not had a great CdP since 99 - I beg u who read this to show me one. Anyway. Color still inky. Nose still fruity (but not raisiny). I think the better part of this wines life in the rear view mirror. Drink up.

One cannot underestimate how good 2001 is for CdP. This is showing beautifully out of the glass and I expect it to evolve nicely. It's very bright and balanced with acidity backbone and finish. No flab. All muscle.
