Le Colture
Superiore di Cartizze Prosecco di Valdobbiadene
It's officially Spring in New England, as witnessed by the 4-6" of snow still covering our property. 🤨
This means it's chimnea time again 🔥 and I've collected some snow into a sizeable mound to act as our outdoor chill station for hopefully the next 6 weeks or so 🤞.
Today's theme is wines we can drink slightly colder and still have some appreciating quality.
An interesting showing on this bottle today, not in a fully dissapointing fashion, but if you blinded me on this wine, I'd tell you it's a mineraly ginger ale, so weird. There is another note too, we're debating a possible spice aspect similar to birch or root beer, but difficult to pin down. Wine...each to their own interpretation, works for me. If memory serves me correctly, this was about $20, so fancy ginger ale I guess.

Hint of residual sugar balanced by ripe apples and ripping acidity.

Feb 18th, 2018This is a bit better than your average Prosecco. Pretty dry and refreshing.

May 27th, 2019Lemon, honeysuckle, grapefruit, pear, white peach, and touch of honeycomb. Layered on palate, all of the above plus almond paste. Creamy texture gives way to Stoney minerality.
“Dry” designation, but only a hint of sweetness registers- cones across as tangy. 11.5% abv
