Very traditional and clean CdP but lacking something extra to make it special or unique. Still tasted fresh so age wasn't an issue. Good just not great. #bastilleday

'98 dark, brambly, CDP Deliciousness

Love this tar rich monster.

Tight, backwards, and structured, dark berry, garrigue, deeply-flavored and very complex, long, lingering finish, drinking well now, but has the stuffing to easily go another 10-15 years, a great Vieux Donjon!!

Killer vintage for CDP. Still a baby with notes of Kirsch, spice & garrigue.

The style of CDP I enjoy most with the perfect amount of age. Great balance of fruit and earthiness.

First time having an aged chataneuf du pape, different than I expected. Nose of prunes, kind of like an amarone or old Turley zin. In the mouth sweet dark chocolate, maybe like a cherry cordial. Also red meat. Medium body and pale color, which was interesting given how strong the flavor profile. Long finish. Overall a really great wine.

2-3 years past prime. Drinkable but not terribly enjoyable.
