Typical nose of an Art Series Chardonnay with that dried pear character. On the medium weight palate a nice combination of ripe grapefruit and under ripe yellow peach. Medium minus acid. One can’t help but love this Chardonnay. A wonderful terroir, the Gin Gin clone, great winemaking, and an excellent vintage - ticks all the boxes. At its peak but enough acid for a few more years if you wish. That was my last bottle of the 2011.

Another great vintage in Margaret River - see previous notes. Ripe grapefruit notes on nose and palate. After some hours peaches and cream on nose and palate. A characteristic of the gin gin clone. Oak is totally integrated. Enough citric acid to last a year or so more but this is essentially at its wonderful peak. Art series Chardonnay is always impressive. Have the last one towards the end of next year. 97 points from HH.

See previous 2 notes. Showing ripe grapefruit on nose and palate with high quality French Oak as a component and not dominating. Good palate concentration and just an outstanding Chardonnay in any company. Welcoming our son Hugh home temporarily from NYC and Georgie from Copenhagen. Hadn’t seen either of them for 3 years. Went well with a kilo of Mooloolaba Prawns. As in a previous note I will have the 2 remaining bottles in 2023 and 2024.

Fuller and peachier than the Oregon wine with a little of that dried pear character which is a trademark of the Art Series. Obviously from a warmer Vineyard - riper and luscious. Judicious use of French Oak. I have drunk quite a few Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnays over the years and this is typical of the style showing a little more restraint than usual. This is not about which is the better Chardonnay as they are both very good (96 points for each). It is about style preference. I slightly prefer the Art Series.

One of the best Chardonnays out there. A pristine and lifted nose. pears, limes, white peach and fig. The palate has concentration with clarity and purity. immense length

At an old friends place in Scarborough on Moreton Bay having a wonderful seafood meal. The nose is textbook Art Series with ripe grapefruit, citrus and pear Toasty notes. The palate shows that rich oak is resolving with the powerful fruit - profound intensity which is a great match with the mornay seafood. Great persistence and length in this 3rd of 6. Hope I have the patience to have just one each year until 2024.

Slightly too pervasive oak on the nose. High toned flinty acidity. Told it ages like burgundy, would be interesting to see where it goes

Mid Lemon in colour. Crystal clear. Aromas of vanilla oak, grapefruit and nectarine with toasty notes. Amazing length of flavour with pronounced intensity and citric flavours. Living up to its billing of Australia's top Chardonnay from a good vintage in the West.
