My parents are big fans of Logan Wines from Orange in NSWs, therefore I snuck this sample bottle back to NZ to enjoy it with them over the holidays.

This Logan 2017 Shiraz was only released late last year. The Logan vines are some of the highest altitude vineyards in Australia. I also really like the label on this wine which is a picture of an embroidered piece.

So what did my expert tasting panel think?

Well, in the glass it’s a red-purple plum colour. On the nose there’s a lovely blend of black and blue berries alongside some peppery oak. While in the mouth there’s some lovely berry fruits up front with a strong, everlasting spicy finish. There’s a bit of tobacco in there alongside cherry and blackberries. From the taste of the tannins, you could definitely age this one. If enjoyed young, then popping it in a decanter or through an aerator would be recommended.

This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Very easy drinking, good with or without food, fruity.
