After dumping a corked 97 vintage of the same I upgraded to the 96. Glad I did. Dark and murky, almost opaque. With air this goes bing cherry and spice. Notes of black cherry, pepper spice, wood, earth and a little mocha. Masculine. Shows that 96 acidity and some pucker. But it’s up against a big core of fruit that’s powerful as well. Long finish. This can probably improve with more age but is nice tonight.

Sep 29th, 2019Dark tawny. Funky nose, maybe a flaw. Rich masculine wine. Oak heavy nose. The flaw mostly dissipated over the night to reveal kirsch and cherry notes. This didn’t show as well as some other 96 Jadots that I’ve checked in on recently.

May 1st, 2014Drinking beautifully but as a 96 BM I would have thought it was tighter and more pulled together. Starting to evolve into secondary flavored and cloudier than I would have thought.
