Past its prime. Lacked structure. Tried to build itself up mid-bottle, with light tannins fighting to punch through, but it wasn't enough. Too weak and flat on the palate. Strong fermented plum but not much else.

Very mature and smooth as might be expected of a 2003 opened in 2016. Delicious but could have been drier. Still strong fruit on the mouth. Went well with our filet mignon.
