Oct 1st, 20151 hour decant(decent chunky/fine sediment). A majestic dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: black cherry/plum, nutmeg, oak, smokey earth, cedar. Taste: soft, smooth, juicy wine with blackberry, dark cherry, cedar, earth and a medium plus dry potting soil/cocoa finish. YUM!
Purchased on a recent visit...beautiful indoor/outdoor tasting room featuring their small production wines. If you want to throw down some serious change they offer a terrific multi course food and wine pairing in the underground cellar.

Big fruit. Classic Napa. Soft tannins and rounding out well.

Apr 8th, 2018Preferred the monte rosso over this '12 in the tasting room, but I haven't had my 13 yet. Both bottlings are top notch. Hard to go against the monte rosso when it's retailed at under 100. Now that gallo owns stagecoach, I wonder if the stagecoach percentage in this will go even higher. This is a little tight with tannins/cedar overshadowing the fruit. Needs some time probably.

Aug 27th, 2017Debate Dr.crane wins tonight, the 13 Lot 1 was a parker 💯 & you could tell the difference between this 12 & that 13, this was just a little tighter knit and not as aromatic. But still worth the $75.00
