Totally sippable but tannins and developing oak say “let me rest another...year! Cab can be finicky. It needs its rest. This guy is rich but a wee bit rough. I would taste in, say, 1 1/2 years it would be a 9.1. On the up-note the Gallo camp sent me the marvelous cab glass I sipped it from and I taste-tested it against my go-to fave glass (the overly pricy but miraculous Zalto burgundy glass) and the glass the Martini/Riedel peeps devised KILLS (tried on another cab too) if you are drinking cab. What dooooo ya know

Nose of black pepper, woody. Taste also oaky, limited fruit (fruit leather if anything), balanced alcohol, lower tannins vs other cabs but balanced. Not favorite flavors but wine is well made.

After a long week of work this wine’s mission was to give me the skills needed to bring home a solo dub in fortnite. Upon first taste, I fear that we will fall short. I categorize this wine as more of a crutch to get a squad dub, but not good enough to bring home a solo Victory Royale.
