Easy to drink, but tart, a lil funky, but great opaque color. The nose is strong, and smells of citrus kombucha. Flavor of lemon and tart citrus flavors. Tasty pet bar.

It's the Pet Nat I wanted to try to test if cheap, organic, and biodynamic could co-mingle. Yes, is the answer. Lunaria is the small production organic and biodynamic line that I can find in my HEB from the giant Cantina Orsogna. They are the best bang for your buck if you care about biodynamics. The Pet Nat of Pinot Gris (web site says Malvasia for some reason) is pale orange - aromas of mostly red berries become flavors of pears and apples.

There’s been a wave of hip pet nats taking form as nothing more than fermented fruit juice in a clear bottle (Furlani for example). The Lunaria “bio budget” Pet Nat could easily have been that, but it’s not. It’s a restrained bone dry yeasty tart grapefruit peach sour tangerine mix. It’s enough to think about - it won’t blow your brains, but neither your wallet.
