M. Chapoutier
Belleruche Côtes-du-Rhône Grenache-Syrah Blend

Might be the lack of taste and smell, but it tastes like cough syrup right now.

A little too minerally to rate higher. Bill McCleary, Surdyk’s: "Minerally undercurrent, with blackberry and red currant followed by tar and floral notes. Well-structured finish. Chapoutier uses biodynamic farming to grow his grapes. This is an excellent example of a southern Rhone red with Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre blended to a tasty finish. Soft on tannin with no harsh finish. A spiciness that layers over the fruit."

Blackcurrent and violet aromas on initial opening, developing into more traditional blackberry and plum flavour with a little cranberry.
