Martin Woods
Willamette Valley Gamay Noir
Juicy, sleek, so sweet yet so engaging. Silky and developed. Wow. Blackberry.

Jan 12th, 2023Tons of tangy blackberry, ripe black cherry and such purity. Reminds me of Thivin. So much mineral and loam. Bright and earthy. Super detailed and great clarity. Mimics Cote de Brouilly. Awesome texture and sappiness. Such vibrancy and tangy blackberry and deep, vivid black cherry fruit. Terrific freshness and energy and Rudi cloud fruit sap on the long finish. Dynamite. So complex and classy. Really great tension and the minerality shines through. So much crunch. Nose opens more and more. Amazing balance.

Oct 27th, 2021Back label pic for info. Doesn’t really taste like cru Beaujolais to me, people who try to compare CA/OR gamay to Beaujolais are missing the mark. It’s very much its own thing. This takes an hour to come alive, then it’s pure, joyful, perfumed, stemmy red fruit. Raspberries. Really pure.

Sep 13th, 2024Oh that nose! Roses and roots and fruits
Crunchy texture, light but at the same time a lot of body. Perfect acidity. Delicious finish
This has to be one of the best Gamays produced on this side of the Atlantic.
