I am so glad I gave this wine a second, more sober, look. I have been harsh on Grenache/Grenache blends, but it just reinforced the fact that one can only judge wines, not varieties. This wine just needed 4 days of air before its real self could appear. It is a profound expression of red fruit with notes of persimmon, bay leaf, orange rind, and more. An aged bottle should be very good.
