Masi
Campofiorin Rosso del Veronese Corvina Blend
A delightful Campofiorin... Chocolate, black cherries and some coffee undertones. This is a Misfit of a wine, not because it wears and orange jump suit and does community service but because Masi are the only winery that don't call this Ripasso. Could probably benefit from a few more years in bottle but is very drinkable today. It's a winner... Like Charlie Sheen...
Debbie says, "it is ok".

Raspberry leaf aroma, some cherry and a little baseline earth note. Cool and even in the mouth, swelling with cherry red fruit only on the finish. The finish closes quickly and succulently.

Feb 12th, 2014Deep burgandy color. Plums & deep black cherries on the nose. Soft tannins with a quick light cacao finish. Very enjoyable for the price.

Apr 30th, 201783/100 Entry level Masi, non-DOC IGT even though some of the grapes are Appassimento and they call it a “Supervention”, these more recent vintages have not overly impressed me, not what the older ones have been. However at €12.5 it is certainly above the rest in the bracket.
It has a fruit forward sour cherry, spice nose with oak, little too much sweetness, maybe the appassimento. The palate is initially overly dry without good integration or mouthfeel and has a shallow backend. After 90 minutes it does grow together, rounds and fills out to a better experience and earns 3.5 stars.
