Deep red purple. Huge red fruit explosion on the on the nose and pallet at first. Nice counterbalance with earthiness and acidity. Some tobacco towards the end. This is bold and savory with round but firm tannings. Time has ironed out the nuances and evolved it into a sleek libation.

Jul 9th, 2023Inky red. Lots of fruit on the nose, jammy almost. The mouthfeel is slightly fruity with pronounced notes of tobacco and leather. Sleek peppery finish, of course. Decanting for a couple of hours is highly recommended with this (2012) vintage. It is at its peak: it is bold, tannic, dry and slightly acidic. Amazingly savory Napa Syrah!
