Mollydooker Wines
Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz
Very dark ruby in colour. Aromas of mocha oak, raspberry and liquorice. Rich and plush textures on the full bodied palate. Ripe and generous - plum cake notes. An absolute crowd pleaser. Probably my favourite of the Mollydooker Cuvées. Carnival of Love and the Velvet Glove particularly are too concentrated for my palate.

First time trying the Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz from Mollydooker and quite impressed. Super dark ruby core with a bit of garnet on the edges. A touch savory on the nose but with tons of dark floral notes and a mix of black and blueberries. Medium tannins (6/10) and a little bit of heat. Medium plus bodied. Dark and rich on the palate with caramel, purple floral notes, vanilla, coffee, tons of dark berries, spices, anise and a touch of savouriness. Quite extracted and good amount of fruit. Long finish. Drink till 2021.

I don't know.. Nothing wrong with it, but 16.5% alc?? It's big, jammy, and full of luscious dark fruit.. If Orin swift made Australian wine, this would be it.. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.. You decide.

Feb 7th, 2014How much ya bench? 16.5% abv.
Worcestershire sauce, bacon wrapped dates, blueberry extract, vanilla latte, and black licorice, with everything receiving an overnight smoking. It should be commended for its admirable performance attempting to hide the heat, but only so much can be done. That said, it’s awkwardly pleasurable for a wine that not only breaks the scale, but knocks it over in a drunken stupor.
Part of me wants to score this 79, and yet another part of me wants to give it a 93...
