Fruit bomb: fruit on fruit on fruit, red currant and strawberry, just a hint of peppery-ness on the finish. Light to medium body, solid acidity. Very delicious

Never buy French wine with the varietal on the label. I broke that rule but managed to get away with it. Light ruby in the glass with a garnet rim. Floral aromatics hit you full force and after some air you get to the fruit. Strawberries and cherries on the nose prepare you for the palate.
By fruit I mean gobs of fruit and absolutely no trace of the vegetal qualities I love in Cab Franc. The strawberries and cherries are joined by cranberry, smoky herbs, and red currant. Not your grandfather's Chinon for sure.
