Organic California Cabernet Sauvignon
Give this a good half-hour decant for a rich bouquet of cooked black cherry, kirsh, and blackberry bramble, hints of mint and bell pepper, notes of tobacco drying in the humid Caribbean sun, possible faint whiff of chocolate, with some warming nutty and earthy notes like amaretto and summer forest. Flavor profile relatively straightforward with juicy black cherry and blackberry galette up front with hints of mint and black pepper mid-palette and restrained tannins on the finish. The juicy fruit has a somewhat thin mouthfeel and doesn't last very long but the tannins linger well. So, not perfectly balanced, but this is a solid value that goes well with food, Friday-night treats like pizza or Beyond burgers pair pretty well. (This even went surprisingly well with my coconut cream ice-cream dessert when I tried it with some left in my glass.) Organic and vegan for anyone interested in that. :)
