Jan 19th, 2014Black and blue fruit dominates. Soft tannins and the oak is just slightly a bit sweet/creamy. A couple more yrs I think will help calm the oak. Still a very nice bottle.

Jun 21st, 2021Always a treat. I’m a huge fan of Mike’s Three Twins cab and the 2010 continues to drink at peak - dark and delicious.

Dec 26th, 2018This has become more velvety since my last bottle, about a year ago. Lush purple fruits, a sleek core of minerality that I don’t recall previously, and flecks of black pepper in the finish. Opened in anticipation of the upcoming Myriad Cab release, and it reminded me why the Three Twins bottling just might be my favorite sub-$100 Mike Smith cab.

Jul 27th, 2018Still a deep violet at age 7, this opens with a captivating nose of cassis, new leather, and spice. The palate is plush and layered, with exuberant, youthful black fruits and a good dose of peppery oak spices. There are plenty of tannins here and, although they're rounding out at this point, this wine still has many good years to go. I'm glad to have a few more.

Jul 11th, 2017Big domestic red, a red lightsaber, and the game. Let's do this. #rockthered #Maythe4thbewithyou #letsgocaps #rockthered #capspens #starwars
So the wine: distinctly red, not purple drank! Raspberry, maraschino cherry, rose, graphite, Graham crackers, hint of green, smoke, tomato...palate comes off a little hot, tannins are smooth, but a ways to maturity I'd say.
The color here is distinctly red, not purple drank!
