State Ranch Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon

2009 Vintage tasted July 2015. Purchased direct from tasting room a few years ago. Lighter than expected on the nose with whiff of dark fruits. Mix of red/black fruit melds into oak, liquorice mouthfeel, and hint of cigar box. Considerable balance.

Smooth right out of the bottle!!

Ok.. Not great! Herbs and eucalyptus dominant! Not showing much fruit!

Excellent wine.

Watery and dull. No complexity. Finish is dusty and tannic. Zero acid structure.

Better than our first foray into Nickel & Nickel, but not worth the price tag.
