The OS team strikes yet again with another very silky wine. The theme of tannin integration with wonderful dark fruit complimented by superb use of oak for mocha and vanilla bean goodness make this a hallmark gorgeous wine.
The OS team strikes yet again with another very silky wine. The theme of tannin integration with wonderful dark fruit complimented by superb use of oak for mocha and vanilla bean goodness make this a hallmark gorgeous wine.
Recent vintages of this wine have been met with mixed reviews, but this '08 was excellent. Pop and pour. Dark fruits, brown sugar and cocoa on the nose, this was more full-bodied than I expected. Strong bursts of cassis and blueberry combined with evident oak and fully integrated tannins and medium low-acidity. The finish was long and rich. This is drinking really well right now and I don't see it improving much with additional age so suggest drinking up in the next year or so.

Ok, she got me to do Orin Swift tonight. Mercury Head. A lot of fruit. A lot of structur. Mild nose with a hint of fruit. Moderate tannin, but not overbearing. Heavier weight mouth feel. Nice finish. - we did BYOB
