Paul Hobbs
Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
The best wine from a case I split with my best friend way back in 2003. As most familiar with Stagecoach will know, the tannin is dense and tight in youth and needs many years to mellow out. This wine is proof of that!
Deeply red and ruby colored, the nose is immediately open and expressive of what Napa is all about in expressing a ripe and fresh cherry, currants, with a few tertiary notes in the background of cigar wrapper and forest floor.
The tannin are silky and completely refined, totally integrated into the wine.

Nice older cab, hobbs Btk still rules though

Mar 29th, 2015Classic older cabernet. Took a while to open up (thought I caught hints of it being corked, but that blew off), but then really started drinking well after 30-40 min. Leather and chocolate notes, with a lot of secondary fruit flavors. Doesn't rival the 2002 Hyde Vineyard, but very good.
