La Chapelle Hermitage Syrah

This puppy disappeared pretty fast but it was classic la chapelle and really delightful 2016

I know it’s young but seriously good after only a hour decant and got better and better as the meal continued - all smiles

Very clean and modern

Too young I know but was hoping with a 5h+ decant this would still deliver. It did, though I’m not sure it showed as distinctively as I was hoping. On cork pop a medicinal note that blew off. Lots of dark red fruit and purple flowers. Tannins are there but alongside a ribeye weren’t overbearing. Quite nice but was hoping for something more.

Black pepper. Burnt rubber. Game. Cherry. Cherry initially dominates the palate, leading to a long and structured finish
