Philippe Alliet
Chinon Cabernet Franc

Ripe tannins, nice red fruit, acidity and minerality. 25+ yr old vines, low yield. Tasty!

Drinking well in early 2025 for the 2018 vintage. It took a few years to get off the rough edges. $21.

Much smoother than in 2021 when first had the 2018 vintage. It’s thrown a lot of sediment. $22.

THE reference in Chinon. I opened the bottle 5 hours before drinking it (it needs it) since it is quite young but nonetheless charming, tasty and greedy too! Nice cassis notes with souple tannins, along with balanced vegetal flavors which makes Cabernet franc so special and this wine a real pleasure.
