Pietramerana
Governo all'uso Toscano Super Tuscan Blend

Drank 7/14/22
A Tuscan IGT wine. No info on the blend or vintage here, but the back of thr label suggests that a percentage of dried grapes are used. Maybe Sangiovese and valpolicella. I'm guessing a bit of merlot is present as well.
Nose is simple with red cherry and a bit of tomato leaf. Sweet red cherry on the palate. Medium tannins lend a bit of support, but this fades quickly. I'm generally not a fan of the apassimento style, and this comes out a bit sweet and simple for me as well. The simplicity would make it pair well with a wide variety of foods. I originally rated this a bit higher, but after eating dinner and being unable to finish a glass I dropped my score. Beware if you do not like sweet or fruity wines.
3/22/3/3/2 +50 = 83 pts.

One of the most affordable IGT Super Tuscan and very casual red out of Tuscan region. This particular style was vinified through an ancient winemaking technique called Governo, which overripe or dried grapes are added to a Bach of a fermenting wine last stage. This generates a very rich, round and approachable red with less acidity and subtle aromas on the cherry side. Medium-less tannins and moderately dry. Super casual and easy to pair with pizzas and red sauce pastas.
