Black cassis, black currents, leather and sweet vanilla spice. Lovely cedar notes with a hint of orange. Vibrant acidity and a creamy seamless finish. Showing some tertiary fruit characters but very typical Napa cab.

Color is a nice claret look alike with a red core and garnet edges, barely showing its age. The nose is expressive, with plump cherry and plum notes, cracked chocolate bar, and supple spice. The palate shows similar flavors that seamlessly integrate with supple, medium to fine tannins. Can't do much better for Napa Cab to get this elegance and balance after 12 years. Well done!

Wow. Absolutely classic Napa cabernet, this wine is drinking beautifully. Really surprised how much fruit is still present on the nose and palate. Dried red and blue fruits, currants, as well as hints of leather (the latter really coming out on the palate), a balanced, rich mouthfeel, and an elegant finish. Has a silkiness that screams Oakville. I can't imagine this wine drinking any better than it is right now. Fantastic.

10 years ago, a good friend gave us a bottle of wine for each our first 10 anniversaries. Through 3 houses, 2 kids and a dog we've managed to protect this bottle. To 10 years of marriage - to this bottle, too!
