I opened this to compare against the ‘14 Bevan. Upon opening, it was a bit muted and not showing much...needed close to an hour to unfurl. Loads of structure formed. Chalky. Aromatics of underripe blackberry, plum, pipe tobacco, and black cherry pie. Tannic but flavorful. Dark cocoa dusted dates, cardamom & cassis rounded out the palate. Where the Bevan is decadent and powerful, this is classy and refined. Both wonderful in their own ways. Shoutout to @Shawn R for the killer bottle!
