Prager
Achleiten Smaragd Grüner Veltliner
RIpe citrus, pear, golden delicious apple, a little hot and heavy, more of a winter wine than a summer wine, shouldn't have had it with Thai food, needs Austrian food.

May 15th, 2013Medium lemon in colour was a good indication of its age and wonderful complex vegetal tones on the nose. Asparagus, brused apples; both green and red, kiwi, mint, and the soft, subtle sweetness of marshmallow. On the palate I got all of those and more; nectarines, honey, kerosine, petrol, and the dead giveaway of white pepper so pronounced I can still taste it the next morning. The alcohol was relatively high for this kind of wine, and the acidity was prickly and effervescent. As for the finish, will this wine ever stop?! Certainly one of the best wines I've had in a long time!
