It was big, rich, and full of fruit, but oh so enjoyable. A hedonistic treat and a great accompaniment for a ribeye steak.

When a first ever glass of Pride, young, yet from an outstanding vintage, is offered, the anticipation surpasses one usually garnered only during the unwrapping of a babybel Gouda!
It did not disappoint. A finish of everlasting gobstopper proportions, a flavor delicate as the waft of a warm blanket being tossed over you on a cold bed. Silky tannins caress your tongue and gently stroke your palate, sending positive adjectives to your brain, culminating in a smile of cartoon-like extremes. Bliss. I came, I tasted, I conquered, I came.

This is a winner. Campfire, black fruits, barrel toast, and menthol stand out on the complex nose. The palate is purple velvet; deep, dark berry flavors, cassis, savory herbs, and minerals spread out over a broad shouldered frame. The Spring Mountain fruit really stands out. A lengthy finish shows lingering fruit and more savory smoke. Kept me going back for more and more.

A little too big and rich for me. Good, but not great.
