You really cannot go wrong with a Mike Smith wine...though this is muted initially compared to most of them, but opens with time

Tremendous. These 16s are starting to come into their own.

Not your typical plush mike smith cab. Fruit is definitely hidden on opening, but a little air reveals some of it. Interesting to see what time does with this one. We personally like it now for it’s focus, acid/tannin/fruit balance, freshness.

Really delicious. Red fruit, licorice, and potpourri with a hint of nutmeg.

Definitely needs more time, but wow.

The 2016 quivet napa, myriad napa, and scarlett napa are all very distinct. This one is least reserved in fruit, but the acid and tannins make it jennie’s favorite of the 3. I think it drinks very well young while you let the myriad and scarlett age a bit.

I thought this was the first out of the gate for @Mike Smith ‘s 16s, but this particular bottle seems to have fallen back in line with the rest. I think the 16s may need more time.

I’ve had the 16 Scarlett and Myriad and this is clearly the early horse out of the gate! Delightful.

I’ll take myriad napa over this one, this Quivet just didn’t seem as full bodied & flavorful as Myriad
