It's the start of my birthday season, so why not open a Rioja as old as me? '73 and fresh, mature, textured, and speaking as much of Burgundy as old Tempranillo. Shocking lack of oxidation, fresh cherry, broth, and just the echo of oak showing showing in some spiciness. As they say, no great old vintages, just great old bottles. This was great.

Delicious. Burgundian, a little game and funky in a good way. I think this bottling is a blend of 1973/1974 but not sure.
