Made birthday dinner for my dad and opened this birth year wine to go with it. A fantastic nose with amazing character and finesse - black cherries and black pepper, with hints of cloves, fresh field mushrooms, and sundries tomatoes; lovely acidity, though perhaps a little sharpness on the finish and slightly shorter than expected. Still a fantastic drink so perhaps I'm being a little too critical of it, 63 years in.
