Renato Ratti
Battaglione Barbera d'Alba
Very funky- dark, fermented cherries and blackberries, rubber/tires, leather, hairdryer. Enjoyed this, but took awhile to warm up. Definitely recommend pairing with food, was great with beef short rib, alone it is a bit much.

1 person found it helpfulJan 17th, 2016Nose has hints of tar and earth. No fruit but exciting. Taste has light acid and minimal tannins. No noticeable alcohol content. Well balanced. Not much fruit until it was paired with the veal reduction. Excellent wine but even better with the price. 13%. $48 at restaurant. 2014 vintage.

Frizzy with a very confusing scent. Woody but not in a good way. Really hard to figure out. All I know is that I didn't not enjoy it and I was not even able to finish my glass.
