Thrilled to finally try this legend of a wine. This has all of the calling cards of big Cali cabs- plum, currant, eucalyptus, herbs, cedar - with an incredible balance of acid and velvety tannin, and only 13.3% alcohol. Long complex finish, super drinkable, but with some edge. Drank with a peppery hanger steak.

Another week of 190X, another spectacular Cab from a legendary California wine maker. Lots of great red an black fruit, a hint of green, coconut, toasted oak, not overripe but totally delicious and well integrated wine. #UCDavis

Powerful stuff. Young. Too young. On the nose, spices, roses, cassis, graphite. In the mouth dark fruit, leather, teeth coating tannins, acid. Long finish. Excellent vintage.

Sep 23rd, 2020Whelp....Probably opened too early, but hey, it’s Tuesday. On the nose some oiled leather, pencil lead, dark fruit. In the mouth, bigggg dark fruit, pencil shavings, rose hips. Strong mid-palate, solid acid, moderate tannins remaining. Long finish that goes on and on. Velvet glove - iron fist. Lovely. Needed a solid hour + to show well.
