This was rich and delicious. It was fair enough for Suckling to pose the question “Is this the best NZ Pinot so far”? Ticks all the requisite boxes - ripe red and black fruits, a creamy texture, a nice garrigue herbal note. This Pinot lives up to the gorgeous site - one of the most awesome views you will see from the top of the vineyard over Lake Wanaka. Most impressive.

Yes indeed! Hard to shell out all the extra cash for equivalent quality Burgundy, so NZ it is. Not just a stand-in though; truly great Pinot from serious terroir.

2010 Rippon Mature Vine Pinot Noir & Harold Alexander’s Soul Jazz masterpiece Sunshine Man. New Zealand Pinot continues to be a revelation, and this one is terrific. This record is layered and detailed, yet remains exuberant and easy to love. The wine fits the exact same description.

Interesting complexity that opens up after an hour o time/air. Some sweet red fruit/strawberry. Yet some earth n hints o liquorice n leather.
