Wow what a treat. Thanks for bringing this. A superb wine. Good balance. Little bigs of earth and dust. Little influence of neutral wood and Oakville fruit.

What a roller coaster. Cork = 🤢, stellar nose with leather, light wood stain, black cherries, and funk. Jock strap maybe? Palate was basically out of gas, but you can tell the quality was there for a long time. My wife bailed after 1/2 a glass but she hates old stuff so who knows. 12.5% alcohol- I will get through this bottle in under an hour. You win some you lose some when it comes to online auctions. Can’t call this a total loss, but it’s not a tie either.

Smells like classic tokalon. Savory herbs, Black licorice, currant. Dense and Savory herbs in mouth with a wonderful umami density to it. Very enjoyable

Wrong wine! This is 1986 Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet. A favorite bottle from memory lane ... A gift from the Robert Mondavi Winery etched with the cover of my French Paradox book on one side and on the other side, the label. All signed by Robert, Michael and Tim ... This was in the early 1990s, back when the wine industry actually cared about wine & health and the winery was still producing world-class wines. We opened this last year and it was AWESOMENESS vinified!
