I have to hand it to this wine for making me want to write about it. I enjoyed this with a mushroom and sausage pizza. On the nose it was subtle and hard to pinpoint flavors. A little SWIRLING revealed red licorice, dried herbs, spice, Cherry candies, and potpourri. Cocoa and chocolate covered cherries came out with more time. On the tongue it was rose petals, cranberry, spiciness, clove, mushroom, peppermint menthol. The wine is subdued, almost watered down, the herby floral spicy flavors for the most pronounced. It was hard to nail flavors which left me inquisitive curious and entranced.
