Roger Sabon
Prestige Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

A nose full of earthy old leather, dried herbs, and stewed plums. Nice lingering finish on a lower end CDP.

A very good (but not off-scale) CdP, this wine exhibits a lot of primary fruit and spice on the nose, but did not have the depth on the palate that I was expecting. Was also surprised how soft it was for such a young wine (was expecting to have to decant it). Don't know if 2012 was a warm vintage or not, but this was much less tannic than I thought. A good wine, but was expecting a bit more.
