My last of a 3-bottle purchase. The cork, my only concern, turns out to be almost perfect.
Deep and aromatic with notes of blueberry, cassis, fig, dark roasted coffee, followed by hints of incense, thyme, and with touches of aged leather and oxidized iron. Full body, it’s rich and powerful without overpowering on the plate with fine texture. Flavors unfold gradually in soft, rolling layers rather than in bursts. The tannins are dusty and well integrated.
At year 22, just entering its prime.

This one has lost a little steam in 13 years, but is actually holding up much better than I was expecting. Has lost a lot of primary fruit aromas, but has nice balance with maybe some hints of dried currants and leather. Surprisingly lingering finish, too. Should last a few more years...
