Santa Rita
Reserva Valle del Maipo Syrah
Not my favorite I would not have chosen it but my dad liked it for some reason. I would have never guessed Syrah.

Mar 13th, 2015Night 1: Sulfur, SO2, burnt match, more SO2, and so on. Blind I probably would have said Chile, but would have no idea what varietal. Thin, high-toned, and herbal, and covered in sulfur.
Night 2: The wine finally decided to show up... added weight and complexity, cranberry fruit and caramel in the mid palate.

Nice 2009 Syrah for the money. Light tannins and smooth overall. Turns out this was was a great Costco impulse buy. Enjoyed in 2016.
