See previous Delectable notes in 2017 and 2019. Quite a rich Ruby red. Aromatics of black and blue fruits, a cranberry note with a tarry charcoal note on nose and palate. HH said coal dust and I totally agree. Steve Pannell is recognised as Australia’s premium maker of alternative varieties and this wine proves that. We made his Nebbiolo the champion wine of the Toowoomba Wine Show a couple of years ago. Have the last one in say 2 years time.

Plum, Dust and a little toffee. Fairly closed nose but with time in decanter notes of ginger and marjoram. Wine is a little shy on nose and palate. Tannins are supple and pliant. The following night a bit too cold from the fridge. Comes about because of this brute of a summer we are experiencing in Australia and particularly Queensland. Drought Wind Dust with high temperatures over 40 degrees C and Bushfires for weeks!

Dark maroon with purple tinges. Fresh aromatic primary fruit notes like a bowl of freshly picked cherries with a touch of clove. Lovely perfume. Medium weight with M minus intensity. Restrained fruit stalky tannins with a Slightly bitter finish. A marvellous new world rendition of Montepulciano. Tasting another one 55 weeks later with consistent notes. Fresh and grapey - best drunk young IMO. Tasted again 84 weeks later with consistent notes. Different and delicious. Still very primary as at 12th February 2019.
